Q. What is the Run of Hope?
A. The Run of Hope is a timed 5k run or 2 mile walk that benefits pediatric brain tumor research at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Q. Where does the money go after it is raised and collected through this event?
A. The proceeds from the Run of Hope will be used to fund groundbreaking research for children with brain tumors and brain cancer here at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The research team here is one of the best in the country at finding new treatments and protocols to help increase survival rates for our children.

- 8:00 am Packet pick up and same day registration begins
- 9:15 am Day of Race Registration closes
- 10:00 am 5 k Race begins
- 10:10 am 2 Mile Walk begins
- 10:30 am Post event festival begins
- 11:00 am Live Band “American Standard” begins
- 11:15 am Winners announced and prizes awarded
- 12:00 pm Event ends
Q. Are there prizes for winning the race, or raising the most money?
A. Yes, we have wonderful prizes for the top fundraising individuals, along with prizes for the actual race winners.

Q. How do I register?

Q. Where does the race start and finish?
A. The race both starts and finishes at Seward Park, 5902 Lake Washington Blvd.S, Seattle, WA 98118.
Q. Where do I park?
A. There is limited parking in Seward around the course. Please plan on parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Handicap parking is available in the park.
Q. How much is the entry fee?

Q. Will timing chips be used for the 5K run?
A. The course is a USATF Certified and the event will be timed using chip technology. The timing chips must be returned at the finish line after you have completed the race.
Q. Are strollers and baby joggers allowed in any of the events?
A. Jogger-style strollers are welcome in both the 5k race and 3k walk. We will ask that those with strollers wait for single runners to cross the start line first for safety purposes.
Q. How do I start fundraising for the run of hope?
A. When you register, you can set up your own fundraising page. It can have your own picture, tribute, and/ or story. Once you set up your webpage, you are ready to raise money!
Q. How can I solicit donations?
A. Email, call or write to friends and family, and direct them to your personal webpage. They can make a donation directly online. Also, you can direct them to the Run of Hope homepage at www.runofhopeseattle.org and they can search for your name as a participant.
Q. Can I form a team?
A. Yes! Teams are very fun to create and it’s easy to do! Follow the instructions for joining a team when you register for the race. Your friends can join your team at any time by simply adding themselves to your team when they register.
